Really nice and atmospheric page...and I also love rain
Thanks! The weather seems especially important in WH. Without the Wutherin' the tale wouldn't have been told.
It's nice to see cross-hatching surviving into the digital media. tried it myself recently (well a month or so back, and it's quite interesting doing so)
Yes, it's quite difficult until you've got your settings just right. It took me a couple of years to get that far. I love the variations in intensity and tone you can get with cross hatching but it's really hard work. Of course it works well if you set your picture in an era when cross-hatching and engraving were king.
nicely done....the effects are just great
Heee, I want to read this book again! It's been years. I also like the idea of adapting novels into comics; that's something I think about as well.
I agree! I think it helps bring into comics subjects that aren't often covered in comics and the unfamiliarity is balanced by the fact people have already heard of it too.
this reminds me of scratchboard work i used to do. though this is much better. you did a great job with this
Oh, this is going to be interesting.
Yay! You couldn't have chosen a better word for what i was trying to capture!
love all the darkness very dramatic. You created it digitally?
Yes, apart from a very rough layout on a paper with a pencil which I scanned in.
oh dang. nice. very very nice negative effect.
