Thanks for watching.
SpindriftA small busy town With a golden beach,Nestled close to The patient sea.The sand ceded To her implacable advancesAnd the earthworks Were overwhelmed. The defences breached By foaming torrents andThe helpless townsfolk Loading their carts,Watched the iron-grey skies
The sea-wallThrown up after the horse had bolted, grey with a curved lip on top like a whale's fluke,Broken, pitted, sandy stepsMade of cement, ground up granite and pieces of tar.Sand encroaches from the sea,Inching up the wall by stealthUntil the base is lost in grit,And the sea shifts silently below.
SpaceOur human shells conceal black holesAnd overwhelming shadows grow.We hide behind the ripples of dark matterAmongst the clustered waves of light. But still the cold expanses singAn alluring song to the tethered planetAnd shivering with delight our answering voidsDance close to their abyssal partner.
ExecutionThe dusty roads snaked far beyong the fieldsWhere silver rice and muddy water dreamed.Still numb, his mother's mind replayed him kneeled,The guns now silent whilst a scarlet streamSoon sank into the fertile earth congealed. His silent body seemed to soak up sunshine beams. She's driven east to lay him in his tomb,The longest journey since he left her womb.
